"This one is a biggie. I Am Hariprasad stars my best friend Salman Khan. It had to be him in the title role. He plays Hariprasad in the film. The world audience will love him in this kind of a film. Half the battle is already won when you have Salman in the film. He is the best Hariprasad I could ever have. 

I Am Hariprasad is a very unusual film for me to direct. I have written the script of the film too and it's not something you'll expect out of me because I believe in love stories and this one is not a love story. 

There will be two leading ladies opposite him in the film and I Am Hariprasad deals with the biggest business in the world, business which is always on the upswing and is possibly the only thing which flourishes more than the recession - Religion. 

I Am Hariprasad focuses on the relationship of man with God and the bridge between the two. Hariprasad is the Godman. It focuses on the Hinduism. Salman had his own inputs in the film and is working hard on this one. It is one of my ambitious films and is hilarious. It's going to make people laugh and at the same time the film has drama." 

So if anyone thinks that Barack Obama is the busiest man on this planet, just rethink of a man called Prem Raj. Three back to back films produced by him, two of which he'll direct and one of which will have Salman Khan. Did Deepika Padukone hear this bit? What about Sonam Kapoor? All new leading ladies...beware, Prem is on the prowl...and if this ain't breaking news...what is?

Salman-Priyanka in 'I Am Hariprasad'?

Its old news that Priyanka Chopra was the original choice for filmmaker Prem Raj Soni to play the female lead opposite Salman Khan in 'Main Aur Mrs. Khanna'. 

Back then, the director couldn't get Salman and Priyanka together for his debut film and had to rope in Kareena Kapoor instead. 

However, as he puts plans into place for his next venture 'I Am Hariprasad' with Salman in the lead, Soni wishes to rope in Priyanka too for the ambitious project. 

Soni says, "Priyanka is one of the most talented actors of today's time and I respect her body of work truly. It will be a dream to work with her." 

Soni is highly excited about his project with his good friend Salman. Soni has written the script of the film and says that unlike 'Main Aur Mrs. Khanna', 'I Am Hariprasad' is not a love story. The director also assures that the film has loads of humour to leave audiences in splits and hang on... loads of drama included too! 

Now, we know that Salman and Priyanka had fallen out after PC rejected the role in 'MAMK'. It remains to be seen if Soni plays peace maker and succeeds in bringing the two hot, great looking people together.

 After the success of ‘Dabaang’, Salman is the cynosure of all eyes in Bollytown. Among the many films that Salman has just signed, ‘I am Hariprasad’ promises to be different. Under the banner of Wild Card Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., director Prem Raj Soni has recently announced that he would be making this film with best buddy Salman. The film is supposed to go on the floors by June this year and is slated for a release in August 2011. 
 
‘I am Hariprasad’ is a story that deals with divinity and explores the complex relationship between God and man. Salman plays the role of a God man in the film who bridges the lacunae that exist between The Almighty and his devotee. The film promises to take the audience into the mysterious depths of Hinduism and the importance of interpreting religion in the way it should be. According to Prem Raj, the audience would be able to witness drama intertwined with comic flavors when the film hits the theatres.
 
Besides a different theme, this film has also been gathering news after Prem Raj announced the coming together of Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra once again as the lead pair. According to sources, everything was not well between the two actors when Priyanka walked out of Salman’s ‘Main aur Mrs Khanna’ following which actress Kareena Kapoor was signed in for the film. The film was Prem Raj’s directorial debut and did not do well at the box office. The miffed relationship between Sallu miyan and Piggy Chops hopes to be settling down and Prem Raj is said to have acted as the catalyst.
 
The lead pair of Salman and Priyanka have shown great on-screen chemistry in earlier films like Salaaame Ishq, God Tussi Great Ho and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. In an interview with the director, he revealed that he considers Priyanka to be one of the most talented actresses in the country today and was especially keen on working with her. With both their plates more than full, it would be nice to see Sallu and Priyanka working together again. In the meantime, Prem Raj, who was recently in news about being dated by Preity Zinta, confirmed that his new production house would also be producing two other films named Merry Christmas that is a love story based in Paris and Bombay Mumbai that revolves around lives that changed as Bombay changed into Mumbai. He revealed that though as a maker he is more inclined towards love stories but he would like to give the audience different flavors of cinema.
 
The audience can hope to witness great drama with hilarious moments in ‘I am Hariprasad’ this monsoon as Salman Khan walks into the theatres in an all new avatar. With Priyanka Chopra adding colors to the film, ‘I am Hariprasad’ definitely looks tempting and surely would be a ‘must watch’ for cinelovers!

Everyone in the film industry continue talking about how Salman Khan is taking every project offered to him while he does not have enough time to do all. It is said that till the time his big projects like Sher Khan and Dabangg 2 are not getting on floor, he signs small ventures but since he is not able to shoot for them, they go on a backburner God only knows till when. And this is what has happened to Prem R Soni’s I am Hari Prasad.

The director of the movie Prem, who made his debut in film industry with Main Aur Mrs Khanna announced the movie last August with Salman and as per him, the movie will not happen before end of next year. The fact is that Salman didn’t gave him the dates and got busy with Ready, Dabangg and Bodyguard and Prem too took up shooting for Ishkq which stars Preity Zinta and since both the actor and director are committed on other projects till end next year, nothing seems to be surfacing.

Thus, Salman will feature in the meantime in Dabangg 2, Kick and presently he is working on Ek Tha Tiger. Even Prem will start working on Bombay to Mumbai post finishing shooting of Ishkq.

Prem shares a good relation with Salman and they even have done a movie together prior, Main Aur Mrs Khanna. The character of Salman in I Am Hariprasad is that of a Godman. It portrays the story of humour and drama that encircles business of religion.

When asked, Prem confirmed the news of delay of the movie. According to him, he has to wind up Ishkq first in Paris and finish Bombay to Mumbai in the meantime. Only then he can take up any other project, which should be I Am Hariprasad if Salman gives dates.

“Prem has a good personal and professional relationship with Salman and won’t start anything with him till he is convinced that the film justifies his super stardom”, says a source, “They have done an experimental film before in the form of Main Aurr Mrs Khanna. Now, I Am Hariprasad, or for that matter any other film that they do, it has to be special. No one wants to do a rush job.” 

In I Am Hariprasad, Salman’s character is supposed to be that of Godman. The film is a mix of drama and humour and deals with ‘the business of religion’. 

On contacting, Prem didn’t deny the news and confirmed putting I Am Hariprasad on hold. He said, “As of now there is no concrete plan around making the film. It is a very unusual film for Salman as well. However, first I have to wrap up Ishkq In Paris and then make Bombay Muumbai. Only after that will the film with Salman follow.” 

However, a friend of Prem is more forthcoming when asked about the delay. “He first wants to prove his credentials with these two films instead of merely jumping on to the Salman wave. He understands that when these films will work, everything else will follow.”

 but the actor-with-big-heart is back with the filmmaker and has no ill will.

Salman Khan’s I Am Hariprasad which was announced last August by director Prem R. Soni has taken a back seat.
