Screen Survery 2013: Salman Khan at No. 3, scores on his charisma

Credibility of the Salman Khan brand seems to be getting stronger by the year as he ranks 3rd in the Screen Annual Survey 2013 about Bollywood brands.
A talk about brand building now seems incomplete without a mention of Salman Khan.
Be it in a survey or at a panel discussion on the same. From being dropped as a hot potato by brands, he's now one of the most sought star to endorse a product in the past four years.

12 per cent in the Screen Annual Survey 2013 rate him as the third biggest brand in Bollywood, three steps ahead of even his buddy, Aamir Khan (9%).
Unlike Amitabh Bachchan or Shah Rukh Khan, it’s tough to get this Khan to decode his brand appeal and yet he might as well qualify to be the Spin Doctor of Bollywood. His star client: himself!

What seem to work for Salman are qualities like fitness (37%), energy (12%), bold (7%), good looks and charm (7%) and social awareness (6%).
While he remains the undisputed 'Bod' of Bollywood (37%), he is also seen as a man who works hard (4%), is intelligent (4%) and takes risks (3%).
The last may have more to do with Salman Khan as a person than any experimental works on screen.
He's unapologetic about the kind of films he works in, which are typical masala fare. And yet, 16 per cent see the actor as the third best ambassador to represent Bollywood on a global platform, two steps ahead of Aamir Khan again.
When it comes to masculinity and adventure, Salman Khan is considered the best face for products like travelyatra.com, Thumbs Up or even, Revital.
But it is his charitable institution Being Human that’s softening up rough edges of his past, which includes his skirmishes with the law and turbulent relationship with his girlfriends.

Salman Khan has a whole list of films that he has given a nod to, but the truth is that the star has no time till early 2013. After he wraps up the shooting of Yash Raj Films’ Ek Tha Tiger, the star will go into Dabangg 2 and Sher Khan. Well, there are also some more South remakes lined up and then there’s also the Bodyguard remake. This leaves Main Aurr Mrs Khanna director Prem Soni’s I Am Hairprasad in quite a tough spot. The film was announced August last year but since Salman got busy with other films Soni started work on Ishq In Paris with Preity Zinta. Now I Am Hariprasad is unlikely to go the floor till 2013 as Sallu has already given away his dates to other films. Well, will the film ever get made? Guess only Sallu can answer that one!

Salman Khan misses out IIFA event in Macau

Salman Khan’s tight shooting schedules have not left any time for the actor to attend IIFA event this year. He will give the coveted award function a miss due to his back-to-back shooting schedules.
Salman Khan has been on the centre stage at a number of award functions and shows. His signature performances are very popular among the audiences. Especially the ways he connects to his fans at the live shows are something to look for. This time his fans in Macao will be disappointed as their hero gave a miss to the award function.
Salman is currently in Hyderabad shooting for his home production movie ‘Mental’. His brother Sohail Khan is directing the movie. The movie is already running behind schedule. Salman’s ill health and his constant court cases kept the actor busy and he could not finish his shoots in time.
Salman however himself informed his fans present all over the world about his absence from the IIFA show. He took help from micro blogging site, Twitter. He tweeted, “Hi ! All good. Sure @iifa wld rock. Cld nt b thr cs shooting every day (sic).”
Salman has a number of projects to do in the coming days. Some are already on floor and some will start shooting in few months time.
Other than Salman Khan, the upcoming movie ‘Mental’ casts Daisy Shah and Sana Khan of ‘Bigg boss’ fame. The film is a Hindi remake of Telugu super hit movie ‘Stalin’. The movie will be released next year on 24^th January. His other upcoming movies are ‘Sher Khan’, ‘O Teri’, ‘Kick’, ‘Partner 2’, ‘No Entry Mei Entry’ and ‘I Am Hariprasad’. He has also signed for Sooraj Barjatya’s unnamed movie. Mostly the movies are scheduled for next year’s release.
Various other celebrities like Shahrukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit, Pulkit Samrat, Ayushman Khurana, Jacqeline, Boman Irani, Vidya Balan and Katrina Kaif among others have already left for IIFA events at Macao. Macao will witness the award function from 6^th July to 8^th July. Every year IIFA celebrates the achievement of Indian cinema at various exotic locations chosen from across the world. Macao also hosted IIFA in 2009. This year the award function will be hosted by Salman’s rival Shahrukh Khan. Shahrukh will be joined by Shahid Kapoor for anchoring at the award function. There will also be scintillating performances by Bollywood divas like Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi among others.

"I haven't been approached for Milan Talkies" - Priyanka Chopra

 

No I haven't been approached for Milan Talkies," stated Priyanka Chopra in a video interview with Bollywood Hungama. "We had spoken about Milan Talkies a long time back and I was supposed to do the film but now the dates have changed. I don't know if Shahid is doing the film or not," Priyanka said. According to recent news reports, Shahid Kapoor has replaced Imran Khan in Milan Talkies and the shoot is supposed to start from October this year. Tigmanshu Dhulia told Bollywood Hungama in an interview earlier this year that the female protagonist's role is very crucial in Milan Talkies. "I am a part of Milan but after these changes that have happened, I don't know what has happened, I haven't spoken to Ekta about it. But I am supposed to do Milan Talkies with Tigmanshu at some point," Priyanka quipped in.

There have been reports doing the rounds in the media that either Priyanka Chopra or Aishwarya Rai Bachchan might be doing a special song in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela. So, has Priyanka been approached for it and is she doing the song? "Nothing is confirmed yet so I can't talk about it." But you may be doing it? "I don't know, you'll know when Mr. Bhansali talks about who's doing the song," Priyanka said.

Priyanka and Parineeti's films, Zanjeer and Shuddh Desi Romance respectively are releasing the same day on September 6. So, how does she look at the situation? "I didn't want to be in the situation because according to me this is exactly what people will do, they'll try and create a rift and they will try and create a competition. She is my sister and I think it's very cheap for people to say that. According to me it's a Chopra weekend and enjoy the films. They are very different films, of different genre. I am very proud of her, she's an amazing actor, she's my baby sister and I am sure she feels the same way. I didn't like the idea of people using me and Tisha (Parineeti's pet name) and trying to gain some sort of controversy. I would request it not to be cheapened like that. She is family and just see it as a Chopra weekend," Priyanka said firmly.

The first look promo of Krrish 3 is blazing ahead and has crossed 14 million video views on the official YouTube channel. "Krrish 3 promo killed it. It has gone beyond Thor and other super hero films. I am very excited about Krrish 3. It will be a really exciting film. It feels great to be a part of this trilogy. It's India's super hero and I am very happy people are responding so positively to it and hopefully it will do really well," Priyanka said excitedly.

Priyanka Chopra has lent her voice for the character of Ishani in Disney's Animation film Planes where she has sung her first playback song Fly High. The film releases on August 23 which also happens to be her father Dr Ashok Chopra's birthday. This will be the first birthday when he won't be around. Will it be a day of mixed feelings for her? "I don't know. I think it will be difficult for me," Priyanka sighed.
