Priyanka Chopra to help bring back assistant Jiban Patra's body

An official statement from Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra clarifies that the actor and her team are making all efforts to get back Jiban Patra's body back to India.

Patra, who is reportedly Priyanka's assistant, is said to have died of a suspected heart attack in Los Angeles a week ago. His body is kept in a mortuary as there were no funds to send it back to India.

The official spokesperson of Priyanka has issued a statement: "All details and financial requirements related to the repatriation was and is being handled directly by Ms. Chopra and her team in LA."

"This is a very unfortunate and unexpected situation. Our deepest condolences go out to Mr. Patra's family. Our aim throughout was to ensure that Mr. Patra's remains were brought back to his family at the very earliest. Owing to the situation that this occurred in a foreign country, where no family member was present, there was multiple levels of paperwork and processes that had to be followed to ensure that the matter was handled effectively and in a timely manner."

"Owing to some delays in paperwork from the family's end, the repatriation of the body was delayed. Ms. Chopra also delayed her return to India to ensure that everything was in place for Mr. Patra's remains to be repatriated to India," said the statement further.

The spokesperson stated that they are in "constant touch with the family".

"All details and financial requirements related to the repatriation was and is being handled directly by Ms. Chopra and her team in LA. We are making all efforts to ensure his family's needs are taken care of at this unfortunate time," said the spokesperson.

A leading publication had earlier reported that Patra's family, back in India, did not have money to get his body back and had asked Priyanka to help them financially, there were reports that suggested that the actress and her team weren't too keen to get involved in the case owing to long paperwork.
Jiban, who hails from Orissa, has two kids and a wife back in Mumbai and was the only earning member of the family.

Salman Khan fans to have a dry year in 2013

Salman Khan fans to have a dry year in 2013

The Bollywood Dabangg Salman Khan is going to disappoint his massive fan club this year as they might have to wait until January 2014 to have a look at their idol on the big screen. As per reports, it would be Mental, directed by his brother Sohail Khan, which is likely to release mid-January next year.

According to the latest buzz and trade sources, no Salman Khan film is slated to release in 2013. Hence the latest news stands in extreme opposition with what was reported earlier that Salman would face a box-office clash with Sunny Deol or Shah Rukh Khan in the latter half of the year. Since last five years, the superstar Salman has always given superhits in every consecutive year, Wanted in 2009, Dabangg in 2010, Bodyguard in 2011,Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2 in 2012. But the actor has decided to give 2013 a skip from his filmography records.
A source has been quoted as saying, “In keeping with the screenplay, it will take the Khans around 135 days to complete the shooting. There are five major action sequences including the high-octane climax, which takes place on a highway with Salman bringing all traffic to a halt. Most importantly, everything is planned bearing in mind Salman`s nerve trouble (Trigeminal Neuralgia). Sohail wants to ensure it doesn`t aggravate in any manner whatsoever.” So let’s wait and watch out for the much-anticipated and much-awaited Mental till January 2014.

Here’s why Salman Khan and his ‘Karisma’ are special to David Dhawan

Mumbai: Filmmaker David Dhawan can be called the undisputed ‘king of comedy’, for he has produced films that have been complete laughter riots. And the jodi -Salman Khan-Karisma Kapoor, that rocked the silver screen is matchless.

Dhawan-Khan-Kapoor made a deadly combo way back in the 1990s. They have delivered hits like ‘Judwaa’, ‘Biwi No.1’ and ‘Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge’.

The two actors are very special to Dhawan and hence the director has reportedly organized a special screening of his latest – ‘Chashme Baddoor’ for them.

‘Chashme Baddoor’ stars Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar, Siddharth, Divyendu Sharma, debutant Taapsee Pannu and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor.
